College Counseling

Nightingale's college counselors provide highly individualized guidance through the college admissions process. Long before the start of the formal admissions process, however, our Upper School leadership team develops relationships with students and works with them on course selection as early as ninth grade. Throughout their Nightingale years, students are encouraged to challenge themselves in the classroom, to develop passion and expertise in their extracurricular interests, and to search for ways to contribute to the good of their community.

By the time the process of identifying prospective colleges begins officially in the junior year, students and their college counselors will have worked together for several years. Individual and small group meetings with students and parents focus on understanding the application process, researching colleges, writing essays, preparing for college interviews, and engaging in honest self-assessment.
