Benefits and Fundraisers

Nightingale hosts a number of benefits throughout the year to raise money for the Nightingale Scholarship Fund. Part of what makes the Nightingale-Bamford community so strong is the ongoing commitment to offering our girls the best education possible in an enlightened and diverse environment. Benefits and fundraisers such as the Fair and Authors' Night are crucial to helping us achieve our goals as one of the leading independent girls' schools in the country.

Authors' Night at the Book Fair
The Book Fair is held every spring for Kindergarten through Class XII. A wide variety of book titles are selected by the school's librarians, teachers, and fair chairs. The fair is intended as a service to Nightingale families to facilitate the purchase of appropriate summer reading materials.

Authors' Night showcases all members of the Nightingale community who have published a book in the previous year. Over cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, visitors are given the opportunity to meet the authors and have them sign books.

Fair
The Nightingale Fair is one of the school's oldest traditions and is held every other year in the fall. Parents, students, alumnae, faculty, and staff work together to organize the event. The schoolhouse is the site for a variety of activities, class booths, games, boutiques, and food stands. The whole Nightingale community is encouraged to participate.

Fathers Who Cook
This dinner is held every other year and provides fathers a showcase for their most delicious creations. Volunteer chefs and sommeliers join forces to create a delectable all-school evening for parents. Hors d'oeuvres and drinks are served, followed by a seated dinner.

Trunk Show
Each December, we host a special trunk show at the schoolhouse, featuring special booths from neighborhood stores and alumnae vendors. A perfect opportunity for the Nightingale community to do some end-of-year shopping and support Nightingale—a percentage of all sales go directly to the Scholarship Fund.
