Arianna Huffington Selected as 2012 Nightingale Commencement Speaker
Arianna Huffington, president and editor-in-chief of the Huffington Post Media Group, will be the speaker for Nightingale's Commencement exercises on Thursday, June 14, 2012.

After a renowned career as a political commentator and writer, Ms. Huffington founded, in 2005, The Huffington Post, a news site that rapidly became one of the most prominent media brands on the Internet. The site serves as both a news aggregator and a platform for original commentary from over 9,000 contributing bloggers, ranging from politicians and celebrities to scholars and field experts. The Huffington Post won the 2012 Pulitzer Prize for national reporting.
Following Ms. Huffington’s hugely successful foray into the world of digital media, she was named twice to the Time 100, Time Magazine's list of the world’s 100 most influential people. A role model for aspiring women of achievement, Arianna Huffington is emblematic of what an individual with deep personal dedication and tireless drive can attain. Head of Upper School Paul Burke aptly notes, "She is someone who not only articulates the challenges that she sees in the world, but also proposes solutions for those challenges. Her personal story is as interesting as her professional ventures."
