After an entire summer of waiting, there’s nothing else quite like the first day of school. With the sun beating down on 92nd Street on the morning of September 6, the sidewalk quickly filled up with excited students, family members, and even a few beloved pets, who were all ready to get the 2023–2024 academic year underway. Greeted with a handshake, high-five, or fist bump from Mr. Burke at the blue doors, students bounded inside and climbed the stairs with their friends—another school year had begun.
