Student Publications
In a school that fosters and prizes individual voices, it is little surprise that Nightingale students have found many avenues for expression. Our nine-time Gold Crown Award-winning literary journal, Philomel, is one of the most acclaimed high school journals in the country and features poetry, short stories, photography, and artwork from Upper School girls. Its Middle School cousin, Out of Uniform, features the work of girls in Classes V—VIII; Time Regained publishes essays and photography with a focus on current events; and Phunomel presents satire and humor from both students and faculty. Aspiring journalists may write or edit for The Spectator, the monthly student newspaper.
