Social Emotional Learning

From the very beginning of the Nightingale experience, our students are encouraged to discover and to demonstrate that the mind and the heart are equally important, and that one is empty without the other.

The social and emotional curriculum supports that discovery by focusing on the development of a positive social context within which academic learning can flourish. A healthy environment where students feel supported by classmates and teachers allows them to take risks, to solve problems independently, and most importantly, to grow as learners and as human beings. A Nightingale graduate will be fully prepared for college in terms of her deep knowledge across a breadth of academic disciplines, and she will also be an empathetic listener who is skilled in conflict resolution and ready to lead.
