Sunny Days is back! After a four-year hiatus to accommodate our schoolhouse expansion project, Nightingale’s premier summer enrichment program for children entering Kindergarten through fifth grade returns this June for its 22nd year. Our counselor-in-training (CIT) program is also available for children entering sixth through eighth grade.
Sunny Days offers a wide array of dynamic, age-appropriate activities organized and supervised by its highly experienced staff.
Make this June one to remember—scroll down to enroll your child in Sunny Days today!
Sunny Days begins on June 12 and runs through June 30; you have the option of enrolling your child for any week of the program ($950 per week) or for all three weeks ($2,650). The daily schedule is as follows:
K and Class I: 8:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m.
Classes II–V: 8:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
CIT Program (Classes VI–VIII): 8:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
Reading Extension (optional): 8:00–8:30 a.m. or 2:30–3:00 p.m. four days/week
Children may be dropped off as early as 8:00 a.m.
Every day at Sunny Days is packed with fun and exciting activities for our campers, including:
- Sports and Games (clinics and sport-specific instruction for older groups)
- Book Club
- Swimming at the 92Y
- Mad Science
- Crafts and Games
- Math Magic
- Field Trips
Every camper will participate in fun and creative age-appropriate math and reading activities run by Nightingale's talented Lower School faculty. For children entering first grade or above, additional reading enrichment is offered through our optional reading extension program.
Children enrolled in reading extension will have four 30-minute sessions per week in groups of no more than three students. Sessions will be held from 8:00–8:30 a.m. or 2:30–3:00 p.m. The reading extension fee is $300 per week. Space is limited.
Open to students entering sixth through eighth grade, the Sunny Days CIT program helps to develop our next generation of leaders and educators. With mentoring and guidance from full counselors—many of whom are high school and college students—CITs spend a portion of their days assisting younger campers in their activities and learning how to take on a leadership role within that environment. Strong bonds develop between CITs and campers, as well as CITs and counselors, and it is gratifying to see those relationships carry over into the next school year and beyond. CITs also spend a portion of each day participating in organized activities geared specifically to their age group. The fee for the CIT program is $600 per week.
