The bonds joining Nightingale-Bamford alumnae transcend time and geography, with graduates spanning 23 countries, six continents, and more than 80 years.

Nightingale supports our network of strong, independent women by providing opportunities for graduates to remain connected to the schoolhouse and each other. Through hosting and supporting a diverse set of events—ranging from Reunion to informal gatherings, lectures, career panels, and performances—we work to connect our vibrant alumnae community in ways that are meaningful to them.

A letter from the Alumnae Board President

Dear fellow alumnae,

Back to school is especially exciting this year as students, faculty and staff discover how much hard work was done over the summer vacation on the expansion of the schoolhouse. Changes are already visible, though we have to wait another year to enjoy its full glory. There are more common spaces, renovated libraries, and improved technology to enhance our academic programs. It’s a great honor to serve as president of the Alumnae Board at this moment in the school’s history.

We’ve established a leadership group to work with our Director of Alumnae Affairs, Christie Guevara, to help integrate alumnae into student life. This includes the addition of two members of the current senior class—Grace McCleary '16 and Kate Wittpenn '16—as representatives of the student body to help us innovate programming and connections between current and past students. If you have any suggestions, would be interested in hosting an event, participating in a panel or discussion about your career or interests, or being a mentor for the Internship Program, please be in touch with Christie at

We’re always looking for new and different ways to grow our alumnae network, increase participation and event attendance, so I encourage you to visit the schoolhouse. And don’t forget to “like” Nightingale on Facebook and check out alumnae photos and updates.

As much as change is palpable, Nightingale continues to share the same values and dedication to each individual student. At Convocation, student speakers from Class IV, VIII and XII grades reminded me of our shared experiences, despite the decades that separate us. We’re always welcome back, and I look forward to seeing you back inside the blue doors, hopefully soon.
