Beyond the Classroom: French II Students Visit Lincoln Center

On March 13, students in French II (Classes IX–X) ventured beyond the classroom for an immersive experience in French language and culture, attending a screening of Case 137 at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.

The film, directed by acclaimed French filmmaker Dominik Moll, was presented as part of a special program celebrating international cinema. Watching the film in its original language gave students the opportunity to engage with authentic French dialogue and storytelling while gaining exposure to contemporary French filmmaking.

Following the screening, students participated in a Q&A session with Moll, hearing firsthand about the creative process behind the film and the themes explored in his work. The outing exemplified the ways Nightingale’s language program extends learning beyond textbooks, connecting students with cultural experiences that deepen their understanding of the French-speaking world and encourage them to use their language skills in meaningful, real-world settings.
