Class IV Reads Spanish Storybooks to Kindergarten Buddies
Class IV students welcomed their Kindergarten buddies for a heartwarming cross-grade gathering this morning centered around storytelling, language learning, and creativity.
As part of a Spanish class project, each Class IV student wrote and illustrated a short children’s book in Spanish using vocabulary that Kindergarten students have been studying throughout the year. The stories featured familiar words and themes including fruits, vegetables, grains, dairy products, greetings, and other foundational Spanish vocabulary.
During the gathering, the older students read their books aloud to their Kindergarten buddies in small groups spread across the Kindergarten and Class IV classrooms. The event gave younger students an opportunity to hear and recognize Spanish words they have learned in class, while Class IV students practiced their language skills through writing, reading, and presentation.
The morning also highlighted the special connection between buddies across grade levels, as students shared laughter, encouragement, and enthusiasm for language learning together.
