ISRP Students Visit the Advanced Science Research Center at CUNY
Class XI students in the Independent Science Research Program recently visited the Advanced Science Research Center at CUNY.Students toured the lab facilities and heard a presentation from staff scientist Dr. Emma Anquillare, who runs the nanofabrication facility. In addition, they explored the IlluminationSpace exhibit, which featured interactive demos in the five interconnected research focus disciplines at the ASRC: neuroscience, nanoscience, photonics, structural biology, and environmental science.
Some other exhibits included an EEG helmet that mapped brain waves in real time and created a 3D image of the activated regions in the brain, a photonics demo in which light was used to send secret messages, and an interactive world map with air quality sensors reporting live data from around the world.
