Our youngest Nighthawks have been busy nurturing basil seedlings this spring and they were so excited to share the fruits of their labor with the Nightingale community today. Each seedling was sold for $2 and all proceeds will be donated to the Saint Bernard Project, a nonprofit disaster relief organization based in New Orleans. After selecting their seedling, shoppers were invited to enjoy a refreshing cup of basil lemonade and learned how best to care for their new plant. Meanwhile, our students stationed at checkout showed off their impressive math skills as they calculated how much change was needed with each transaction 🪴
