In connection with Ms. Song’s unit on wire sculpture, Class I students visited the Whitney to see the sculptures of Ruth Asawa and Alexander Calder. During their tour, students focused on the unique lines that can be found in the works of these artists, and practiced describing their observations with language, through drawing—and best of all—through a wire bending activity.
