Mandarin students recently journeyed to 64th Street to visit Lévy Gorvy Dayan, an art gallery, and meet Chinese artist Tu Hongtao. After introductions, Mr. Hongtao led students to a few different works of his within the gallery and explained his inspiration for each; many of which were created during the beginning COVID-19. Students asked questions in Mandarin and had the opportunity to learn firsthand his inspiration for the paintings. Mr. Hongtao explained how he interprets his art, and asked students how they interpreted the different pieces examined throughout the visit.
