Sophomores Run for Pine Ridge

In mid-May, members of Class X participated in a Central Park run to raise funds for Nightingale’s sister school, the Pine Ridge Girls' School in Porcupine, South Dakota, the only independent school on an Indigenous reservation. The event—in which every member of the class played a role as runner/walker, cheer squad member, or race timer—was organized by Upper School arts and athletic board representatives. Participants were joined at the starting line by Victoria Shorr, the founder and board chair at Pine Ridge. Throughout their collective efforts during community time, students raised enough funds to purchase a new refrigerator for Pine Ridge!
