Class IV artists have been diving into Unit 1: Welcome to the Art Studio, where they are building strong studio routines, exploring creativity, and fostering community. Students began personalizing their sketchbooks—a space for ideas, practice, and reflection—by decorating covers, gluing in their studio agreements, and experimenting with materials. Already, discoveries are being made: during one sharing session, a student’s artwork sparked a connection to Yayoi Kusama’s work in Cosmic Nature. These moments highlight how sketchbooks not only help students grow as artists but also open doors to seeing patterns, making connections, and finding inspiration all around them.
