Class VI Studies Improvisation with Guest Ensemble
Class VI Strings has been studying improvisation, and they had the pleasure of working with guest artists from the contemporary string group, WARP. WARP is a genre-bending ensemble that incorporates improvisation throughout their repertoire, from classical to rock to R&B. Violinist Josh Henderson and cellist JY Lee of WARP led an interactive workshop with the VI Strings students, in which they demonstrated various improvisational techniques, helped students to create their own rhythmic figures, and initiated the creation of an original work that the students will perform at their winter concert.
