Exploring Philadelphia

Class VI recently went on an overnight trip to Philadelphia to explore the city’s rich history and museum offerings. Students visited the Franklin Institute, Magic Gardens, and the Penn Museum.

At the Franklin Institute, they explored interactive exhibits, attended a live dissection demonstration, and made connections to their science curriculum. At Magic Gardens—a museum, workshop, gallery, and studio covered entirely in mosaics—students participated in a hands-on workshop alongside museum educators and Class VI art teachers.

At the Penn Museum, students took part in a scavenger hunt through the galleries, linking their findings to their Latin and history studies. They also participated in a Digging Rome workshop, where they practiced archaeological excavation techniques.
