Imagining Grid Portraits in Class VIII
In Class VIII’s recent Drawing and Painting Class, students learned about the scope of work for their gridded portrait project. Students then created a large, 1" by 1" grid on big paper and then drew a half inch grid on a photo of their choice, and worked box by box to enlarge the image. This artistic method helps students learn accuracy and realism. In a later class, students will use colored pencils to bring their sketch to life!
