Small Slopes, Big Discoveries
In Kindergarten science, students are learning how simple machines can make it easier to move or lift heavy objects. Through a hands-on investigation, Kindergarten scientists used a marble run with inclined planes of varying steepness to observe how a ramp’s slope affects a marble’s motion. By testing different angles, students investigated how changes in an inclined plane influence the speed of a moving object, discovering how simple changes in design can affect the way objects move.
