Upper School Students Attend Annual Women’s Luncheon at the Museum of Jewish Heritage

With thanks to Mrs. Patti Kenner, eleven Upper School students and six teachers attended the Annual Women’s Luncheon earlier this month at the Museum of Jewish Heritage. Each year, Nightingale students are the only students invited to this exceptional luncheon, making it a very special opportunity for our school community.

During the event, students had the privilege of hearing the powerful testimony of Holocaust survivor Angela Orosz-Richt, who was born in Auschwitz concentration camp. Her story of survival and resilience was deeply moving and left a lasting impression on all who attended. At one point, Mrs. Orosz-Richt engaged directly with students, asking them a question and passing the microphone so they could share their thoughts with the audience.

In addition to the luncheon, the group also enjoyed a guided tour of an exhibition dedicated to the work of the talented artist Arthur Szyk, whose detailed illustrations and political art powerfully addressed themes of justice, human rights, and opposition to tyranny.

The visit was a meaningful educational experience, offering students an opportunity to engage directly with history, reflect on the importance of remembrance, and deepen their understanding of the Holocaust and its legacy.
