In Math X Core—an advanced version of the Core X class—students recently worked on a Parent Functions Lab. This lab acts as a preview for the students to learn the basics of all of the various functions they will encounter in Class X and XI, such as quadratic, cubic, absolute value, exponential, radical, rube root, and rational function. The project highlights the similarities between the functions so students begin to see all of the functions as being highly related instead of disparate topics in mathematics.
