Touring Chelsea Galleries
Upper School Painting and Drawing students recently traveled to Chelsea to explore the work of contemporary female artists from the United States and around the world.
Their gallery visits included Sasha Gordon at David Zwirner, Shara Hughes at David Kordansky Gallery, and Chinemerem “Eme” Ome at ACA Galleries est. 1932.
The trip deepened students’ understanding of contemporary art history and the evolving dialogue between artists and viewers. In class, students continue to reflect on how artists share their perspectives with the world—and how viewers, in turn, shape the way art is experienced and interpreted across generations. By visiting museums and galleries, our students actively engage in that ongoing conversation.
